Francis Sullivan, CEO
Francis Sullivan is the Chief Executive Officer of the Truth, Justice and Healing Council.
Before commencing with the Council, he was Secretary General of the Australian Medical Association (AMA).
Francis is committed to equity and justice and has been highly successful in bringing a social conscience to the political debate on health and aged care issues.
He spent 14 years as the chief executive officer of Catholic Health Australia (CHA), speaking for 73 private and public hospitals and more than 500 aged care services across Australia.
Prior to that, Francis was senior adviser to the Minister for Health in Western Australia.
Francis has a masters degree in theology from Loyola University in Chicago and a bachelors degree in politics from Curtin University in Western Australia.
Early in 2008, the Australian Catholic University awarded him an honorary Doctorate for his work in public health advocacy.
Francis lives in Canberra with his wife Susan They have three adult children.
